Safety

Please bear in mind the following safety tips while using any Automatic Teller Machine:

  • Memorize your PIN number. Never write your PIN number on your ATM card or keep a written record of your PIN in the same location as your card.
  • Never share your PIN number or give it out over the telephone.
  • Report a lost or stolen ATM card to your credit union immediately.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. If you notice anything suspicious, use another ATM location and report your observances to the financial institution or police immediately.
  • Stand close to the ATM when entering your PIN number. Don't allow others to watch you. Allow privacy to others using the ATM. Wait until they have finished their transaction before approaching the terminal.
  • If using a drive-up ATM, pull up close to the terminal and keep your car running while performing the transaction. Also, make sure your car doors are locked and windows are rolled up before and after your transaction.
  • After conducting a withdrawal, put your money away to be counted and verified later.
  • Keep all receipts for verification of your transaction against your account statement.
  • Report all suspicious activity and/or crimes to law enforcement officials immediately.
